I. Job title and number of staff positions available : Part-time instructors: Able to handle multiple subjects
[Outsourcing contract may be renewed from the next school year onward; retirement at age 65]
II. Job content and overview :

A. Subjects handled:
School of Food Science and Technology
(1) Advanced Comprehensive English (A),(B)
(2) Comprehensive English (A),(B)

B. Lecture schedule:
(1)First semester (April–July): Mondays, 4th period (14:50–16:30); 14 class hours
Second semester (September–February): Mondays, 4th period (14:50–16:30); 14 class hours

(2) First semester (April–July): Tuesdays, 4th period (14:50–16:30); 14 class hours
Second semester (September–February): Tuesdays, 4th period (14:50–16:30); 14 class hours

C. Lecture content:
(1)To help students acquire the ability to understand and present information on food and familiar topics.
Textbook used:
You are What You Eat: Diet and Fitness English for Nutrition Students (Nan’undo)

(2)To help students acquire the ability to understand information dealing with topics of daily life and communicate in plain English.
Textbook used: Let’s Make it Simple ! (Sanshusha)

D. Salary:
For (1)(2), 100-minute classes, ¥12,110 per class (may be increased according to university regulations).
Transportation costs will be supplied at cost; however, they may not exceed ¥2,000 per working day.

III. Qualifications for applicants :
1)
Sufficient practical English capability and educational capacity to teach classes at the undergraduate level.
2)
A master’s degree in a field related to English (education) or equivalent professional experience.
3)
Teaching experience at a university, technical school, high school or other equivalent schools.
4)

For native English speakers: sufficient practical Japanese capability to carry out the relevant duties of the position.

For native Japanese speakers: advanced practical English capability and thecapacity to conduct classes in English.

For native speakers of languages other than English or Japanese:   advanced practical English capability, the capacity to conduct classes in English, and sufficient practical Japanese capability to carry out the relevant duties of the position.
